Walgreens Stores Giving Seniors Tips to Avoid Injury from Slips and Falls

To reduce risk of injury from tripping and falling, Walgreens will offer prevention tips and advice when it hosts a Senior Day at its stores nationwide on Tuesday, Aug. 7. Each year, one in four people age 65 and older falls and 3 million older people are treated in emergency departments for fall-related injuries, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Walgreens Marks Availability of 1,000 Safe Medication Disposal Kiosks Nationwide

Atlanta Takes Home Walgreens Every One Counts Hometown Challenge, As the Top Market for its Support of Red Nose Day 2018 in the U.S.

Walgreens today crowns Atlanta as the “Red Nose Day Hometown Hero” and winner of its first Every One Counts Hometown Challenge.  Over the eight weeks, the Challenge has ranked the top U.S. markets for overall fundraising activity, leading up to and following Red Nose Day, which was May 24. With a formal proclamation to the victorious city, Atlanta will be designated as the “Red Nose Day Hometown Hero” for the next 12 months.  Washington D.C. and Miami finished second and third on the list, respectively.
