As president of Walgreens, John Standley oversees all of Walgreens operations and is responsible for the development, growth and management of the business as the company continues to build on its leadership in the rapidly evolving healthcare sector. Among his accomplishments, Standley led Rite Aid’s transformation from a traditional drug store chain into a health and wellness company through various programs and initiatives, including the development and launch of its loyalty program and wellness format stores as well as its acquisitions of a fully capable PBM, a population management company, retail clinics and digital healthcare capabilities.
Prior to Rite Aid, Standley served as chief executive officer and board member of Pathmark Stores, Inc. and held executive financial positions at several other grocery and retail companies. He is a former chairman of the National Association of Chain Drug Stores (NACDS) and previously served on the boards of CarMax, Inc. and Supervalu, Inc.
