“Right now in healthcare, patients feel like everything is transactional. They go to the doctor’s office, they’re being rushed through,” says Health Corners Market Manager Shawnt Batmanian, PharmD. “With Health Corners, we're focusing more on the patient, where they can take the time they need to understand the issues that are plaguing them rather than being told what to do. We're empowering them to make the decisions themselves.”
The Health Corners model is a key component of Walgreens mission to reimagine local healthcare.
“Through our Health Corners and our healthcare partners like VillageMD, CareCentrix and Shields, we are now able to provide patients an integrated healthcare experience, and more importantly, orchestrate their care journey through the healthcare continuum,” says John Do, chief financial officer of U.S. Healthcare segment of Walgreens Boots Alliance.
Since the program launched in 2020, Walgreens Health Corners have facilitated more than 300,000 patient interactions.
“If you look at the history of Charles Walgreen, his mission was always to make every customer that he dealt with feel like family,” says Linh Peters, Walgreens’ senior vice president and chief marketing officer. “That is really at the core of who we are as a brand, and you see that come to life in Health Corners.”
