Stan Blaylock is a senior vice president of Walgreens and president of Walgreens Health Services (WHS), Walgreens managed care division, based in Deerfield, Ill.

Before joining Walgreens, Blaylock co-founded Medmark in 2003 and served as chief financial officer and chief administration officer before being named president and CEO in 2005.

Blaylock previously was an account officer for Citibank’s corporate banking division in New York and Boston from 1987 to 1989. He then worked as an investment banker for Alex. Brown from 1989 to 1993, when he joined Option Care, Inc. as vice president of mergers and acquisitions/new business ventures. Blaylock rejoined Alex. Brown in 1994 and later served as global co-head of health care investment banking for Deutsche Bank Alex. Brown from 1999 to 2002.

He joined Walgreens as a divisional vice president of specialty pharmacy for WHS in 2006 and was promoted to a Walgreens corporate vice president in 2007. He was named a Walgreens senior vice president and president of WHS in 2008. 

Blaylock received a B.A degree in economics and communication studies from the University of Virginia in 1985, and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School in 1989.
